This little hole in a wall is awesome! I found it while my co workers and I were looking for a place to eat. We usually go for sandwiches and what caught my attention from this place was the cubano sandwich. First time we got here it was empty! No customers. So all of us got the cubano sandwich. It was DELICIOUS! I can't get enough of it! It's very flavourful, the pork is always tender. The bread is really good too! I really like the flavor of the bread. First time I ordered I asked the lady if she could add pickled onions in the sandwich and she agreed (I love picked onions haha).

I have also tried their ropa vieja sandwich and it's also very delicious! But the cubano sandwich edges it by just a bit.

Every time I've come here they are very welcoming and patient. The lady takes her time to explain what's on their menu, as it's kinda limited to a few items right now. Today I tried their carne asada tacos and omg the meat has this crispy yet tender texture to it that's very good! I'm definitely getting tacos again next time.

There's only two people working here, so there can be a bit of a wait time but nothing too crazy - and definitely worth it. But seeing as it's gaining popularity, I think they might have to hire on more staff haha. Parking can be a hassle as the parking lot is very small and there's other shops - only about 7 cars fit. So it's best to try and find parking in the nearby neighborhoods.

In all this place is awesome! Glad I found it!

WOw amazing tortas on the Westside!! Tapatia Mexican Food is a little hole in the wall restaurant next to Tacomiendo in Culver City specializing in lonches (Jaliscan word for torta). Despite the restaurant's current CONSTRUCTION (no menu available and the sandwich being a little cold), I had a fantastic quick, hearty lunch. Tapatia prides themselves on their torta ahogadas (spicy drowned sandwiches.. think a Mexican 'french dip'). Dear Yelpers, be patient, they will have an updated menu next week. I'm assuming just updated prices. Regardless I got a Torta Ahogada for an affordable $7.70 w/tax.

    Quick Tips:
-Cramped parking lot. Fortunately I found street parking on Culver Blvd
-Barely any seating. Two 4tops inside, two 2tops inside, and several bar seats.
-It's actually really spicy. On a scale of 1-Howlin'(10), my torta ahogada was a 7.
-Lunch Special (that probably will change next week) is a little over $8 for a sandwich, chips, and a drink!
-As of now, I'm assuming all of their sandwiches are around $8 w/tax as well.

    Taste 5/5
LOVE LOVE LOVE. The quality of the bolillo (bread) was outstanding. Think a smaller french baguette. The kind lady applied a generous amount of refried beans spread, tender chopped pork, pickled onions, and drowned my sandwich in a spicy, buttery tomato sauce. Extra sauce is available on the side.

    Price 5/5
    I'm stuffed.

    Service 4/5
Lady was extremely kind, but the tables were dirty and my sandwich came out a tad cold. Otherwise, I was pretty happy.

Usually you have you trek to Boyle Heights to get a good torta, but not anymore! Unfortunately I came during a strange transitional time...Next time I'll get the Pierna Lonche!
